This is interesting from this August: http://www.miningstockeducation.com/2019/08/five-gold-silver-miners-the-sprott-group-has-invested-in/
Steven Poulton reckons just the Mali gold projects are worth more than the whole current MC of ALS - I wonder what the current finance
is for?

I bought some also - under the radar as you say - the cash they will get with the investment in Jan is not far off current MC - La Mancha did a similar deal with Golden star (TSX) in Aug 2018 a year later it had 6 bagged - ok different company but there are good prospects with the projects ALS have

eric - the “artisanal miners” are from the tribes who have signed up for the JV - so they haven’t been moved off - they get the cash without having to risk their lives via the JV with VAST. The whole community benefits - the deal was set up outside the ZimGov (with the Chiadzwa community), but has the blessing of the powers that be within the ZimGov.

The cost of security will not be high as the local community will protect their land as they know they are going to benefit from them. They were the artisanal miners - get it?

RE: Eric04 Nov 2019 13:44
eric - a few answers to your absurd speculation.

  1. VAST resources is the largest investor in mining exploration in Zimbabwe over the past 15 years (according to our CEO).
  2. the Zim economy is 1% of the UK’s so in real terms VAST is a large company in Zim equivalent of an MC of £3.3 bn based on relative economy size.
  3. Our CEO has lots of experience (and a proven record) in dealing with governments and acquiring licences.
  4. VAST resources have the top team in Zim for diamond mining with Mark Mabhudhu et al.

ericeric you appear to misunderstand - I suggest you do sme research before making your inaccurate and misleading claims.

This is binary as most small oilies - if I3e hits the oil 50p+ if not 5p- are both possibilities - I do not like investing in oil, but this is a better bet than most at this s/p IMO (so I have a decent position for me) - we will find out soon - GLA and it is luck and that’s why I hate oil!

Sandy, I agree, however we are where we are, in time they will probably reduce the bureaucracy - VAST is one of the first movers in Zim right now, though it is taking time, AP has made great progress in a very short time and I am very positive about the future.
I hope we get the sign off next week, there is much to look forward to IMO.

And Romania is also potentially worth $bn’s to VAST - so many possibilities.

IMO the ZimGov want to get the deal done, though they are not that bothered when. It will be when it suits them - I am sure soon but…
Anyway could be next week, but they really don’t give a toss about our GM and the “open for business” mantra is on their terms - even Russia waits!

Piker - I have 5 bagged already on many shs and CFD’s and we will get to 2p+ if the diamonds are as successful as laid out.
There is NO CHANCE Atlas will convert any warrants until the bonds are issued as they would be naked and short if the deal is not approved at the GM - you are scare mongering and should be ashamed!

Piker cannot read or understand a simple RNS: “The Bonds have a non-conversion period of six calendar months from the First Issuance Date or, if Atlas so elects (the “Election”), 12 calendar months from the Second Issuance Date”.

The GM ghas to take place first in any case to issue headroom - it will be 6 months from initial drawdown before any conversion can take place and that is if they are not repaid - which they will be from revenues .
In the current period where money supply is tight this is a great deal for shareholders - the diamonds are high;y profitable as will be BP

ripley - no reason - the BB gets filled with “excited posters” when the s/p is volatile - preferable to the deramping mob when VAST was at the lows but I’m never excited, I expected the rise and I expect it will go on until 2-3p+ in the future.

I hope everyone has made some money or at least go some losses back. Don’t worry about the retrace from .5p shs do not go straight up. Share profits are doing their usual hatchet job and MM’s are just doing what they do.

We will be back to .5p soon and then upwards IMO

Fantasy when will you admit you are wrong about AP and that he is a great entrepreneur and CEO - .5p, 1p, 2p?

You have tried to destroy VAST for getting on for a year now - defamed and libeled AP, accused several posters of complete fantasies - like working for VAST or SVS.

You entitled to your opinion of course - but you are looking even more pathetic than you were in January - when at least some thought you spoke sense.

If you have lots of sweeties on a plate and add better ones - which do you pick?

This is what many have failed to understand - you pick the one which will give you the largest return in the shortest time.
AP has done this - yet been criticised by most - it is not an easy job running an AIM company - let alone a basket case like VAST was before he took over - there were many problems he had to overcome and only AP could have got Marange and he brought all our other assets too.

Ye of little faith are beginning to get it and many more also.

Potentially VAST is huge and this is just the start

Easy to forget these looked very sad @ around 0.1p… 21st August 2019 low.
I see i was brave enough / foolish to top @ 0.15p in the June.
Sold 1/4 of those ( D ) 8th October for 0.36p they then blocked purchases on platform.
Must of gone higher for me to buy a few in ( Wi ) 18 October @ 0.48p
Another small tranche 28 October @ 0.31p
Allowed to buy on ( D ) last two days… I had sent e-mail Friday last… not sure if that remoded it .
Must be why I placed a GTC last buy deal to keep it on

It did come near to target last week but only lifted today @ 8.19am set on phone early before heading off .
Better in hindsight if i had not set limit so early today as it dropped to 0.285p by 9.14am .
AMC … the other choice also lifted within 10 min ( 8.30am )…@ 1.97p … good job i switched that to ( D ) .

Fantasy, you cannot run a mine without power or a way to remove waste to the tailings dam - these are now complete, they have been working on BP ever since the licence was granted, upgrading existing equipment etc. Whilst I doubt full production will be attained until later next year mining operations will commence around Xmas. Obviously we will not be getting the equipment from China this year but that will not stop commencement of mining - next year it will build and build and we will have a very profitable asset.

Well in 2 years much has changed - if you know your VAST history 2 years ago SSGI had a stranglehold on the company we had $4mil of debt and a BS showing $28 mil of historic debt - we had PP a gold mine that was producing revenues, that we would not benefit from for many years and we had a couple of mines in Rom. PP has been sold and we now have a way to mine BP and the funding to do it. We also have a JV for a diamond field at Marange which we have funding for when the ZimGov get round to signing the MOA.
VAST is in a far better position.
I am not saying the past 2 years could not have been handled better, but I do not know the whole situation (like most PI’s), but we are in a better situation overall and if we get production form BP and Marange next year we will do very well.
Basically we are in a totally different (and better) position.

BP - cold commissioned and running up to production early 2020

Funding in place for BP and diamonds when they are signed off

Diamonds due at any time

The potential revenues are off the scale for a small AIM company

I hope all VAST investors have a great Xmas and happy and profitable 2020.

I love the posters who come on the BB have no “interest” in the share but tell all and sundry that the posters who are positive are trying to defraud others - Well in my case I think TLW is a good investment at these levels and as I stated last night the opinions on this BB have a minute effect on the s/p - II’s and the big boys rule this stock. All the doom mongers were on yesterday saying it would drop further but +14% is a positive step - more tomorrow IMO. £1-1.50 in the next 6 months is possible.

Sarah IMO, BP will be a profitable mine if it is set up and run properly. Revenues will be decent, but we have had some serious dilution over the last few years and the effect of BP is less on the MC than it would have been in 2015. The diamonds are massive and will generate 100’s of $mil over the next few years if we get to mine them.
gkb - you think a placing is on the way? We have a funding deal in place, maybe you can give me your opinion as to why we need a placing?

Might of been wise to slice a couple of times if Nigel Somerville is anyone to go by .

Vast – Interims at 3pm on a Friday, no-one-is-watching o’clock? Uh-Oh……where’s the cash?
By Nigel Somerville, the Deputy Sheriff of AIM | Friday 17 January 2020

18
Shares

Disclosure: I have no positions in any stocks mentioned, and no plans to initiate any positions within the next 72 hours. I wrote this article myself, and it expresses my own opinions. I am not receiving compensation for it (other than from ShareProphets). I have no business relationship with any company whose stock is mentioned in this article.

AIM-listed Vast Resources (VAST), a company about which I have been a perennial bear and issued a sell call in the run-up to Christmas when the debt funding didn’t appear, has released interims to 31 October this afternoon. At 3pm on a Friday! What horrors do we find?

The blather at the beginning tells us that cash stood at $1.2 million and boasts of a conditional $15 million (net $13.5 million before expenses) bond facility. So all’s well?

Not so fast. The cash of $1.2 million is despite boatloads of confetti being issued during the period ($4.2 million worth, before costs) and net current assets were, er…… negative to the tune of $2.6 million. Right, so cash is…er…critical!

As for that bond, we learnt back on 18 December that the cash for the bond had not so far been forthcoming. In that announcement we were told that:

…. both parties working together with the intent to effect drawdown before 31 December 2019

But on 2 January we were told that the company had formally requested its first payment……and since then……nothing until now. It is now 17 January – and we are now told that:

The Company expects to receive funds shortly

Well, when is that….and would we believe the company anyway?

Given that we know that the company has raised just under $66,000 from share issues post-period (before expenses) I would suggest that the solvency of Vast has to be called into question here. Of course, it has that binding bond facility which apparently morphed into a binding conditional bond (which is therefore not binding at all, until the conditions are met) and despite all the song and dance since 1st October, when we were expecting sign-off later this week, then following Godot jibes from yours truly, laughable excuses on 24 October. And the cash – promised to arrive by the end of 2019 on 18 December, requested on 2 January 2020 still has not arrived.

Does anyone see a pattern here?

Quite why the shares are up 7% today is a mystery to me. As far as I can see there is no certainty of the cash arriving, the company is technically insolvent as things stand and if/when the funding does arrive it is a death spiral with bells on which will dilute shareholders to high heaven. And if it does not then the corporate undertaker is ready and waiting.

There seems to me to be no reason to read any further: this is a resounding sell/bargepole.
