Further upside for M&G shares?

Off their recent peak but still trading near record highs, the asset manager's shares continue to interest independent analyst Alistair Strang.

M&G  Ordinary Shares (LSE:MNG)'s share price has slavishly followed the historical pattern delineated by Prudential Assurance, a movement of a few pence providing an exciting day for shareholders.

While M&G enjoys a fairly dull share price with daily movements usually measured in single digits,  we cannot ignore the fact it achieved our historical target of 305p, exceeded it slightly and is now exploring a brave new world for the longer term.

If this is indeed the case, above 360p should apparently trigger movements to an initial 383p with our secondary, if exceeded, at a future 412p and some probable hesitation.

Our alternate, hysterical scenario, suggests weakness below 340p shall trigger reversal to an initial 327p. Our longer-term secondary, if broken, calculates at a future 313p.

All things considered, we are inclined toward optimism.
