Dunelm Group (LSE:DNLM) makes only its second appearance in this list of most-bought stocks in ISAs on the ii platform, eight months after its debut. Having staged a decent recovery from May’s multi-year lows, reached following a string of big falls since September last year, shares slumped around 18% after annual results a week ago.

Much of the decline is attributed to disappointment at the new three-year strategic growth plan, which is not ambitious enough for some. Meanwhile, a commitment to spend heavily on infrastructure over the next two years plus £125 million on store expansion and renewal, mean less likelihood of special dividends.

Analysts were quick to cut price targets. UBS trimmed to 1,130p, JP Morgan dropped to 1,050p, while Deutsche Bank is down to 1,000p.

However, Deutsche Bank says: “Despite the near-term noise, we believe the case for store investment is strong, based on Dunelm’s sector-leading c.30% [return on capital employed] and a widening performance gap between stores. While we conservatively forecast a 4.5% sales [compound annual growth rate] over FY26–29, the post-reset valuation is highly compelling.”

Dunelm shares sank below 730p from over 1,200p a year ago, but there’s clearly interest in the shares at these prices. Indeed, chair Alison Brittain spent over £73,000 on Dunelm shares in the aftermath and non-executive director Ian Bull spent over £18,000.

KEFI Gold and Copper (LSE:KEFI) has been on the cusp on making the top 10 before but has never managed to make the breakthrough, until now. But it is in unfortunate circumstances.

The company lost almost half its value last week after suspending development at its Tulu Kapi Gold Project in Ethiopia. That followed “a serious security incident resulting in multiple fatalities involving security personnel and community members”. Kefi said it wouldn’t resume development activities “until appropriate measures have been established to provide a safe and secure operating environment for its personnel and the surrounding communities”.

Rockhopper Exploration (LSE:RKH) has had a similar experience, in so much as it’s never quite made the most-bought list. But it scrapes in this time as investors pick up stock near an eight-month low. The drop follows sabre-rattling by Argentine authorities over ownership of the Falkland Islands.

One of AIM’s biggest companies, Rockhopper owns the Sea Lion oilfield with Israeli partner Navitas Petroleum. Navitas issued a response recently: “The partnership believes that the recent developments are not expected to have a material effect on the development activities of the Sea Lion Project, including the timetable for completion of the project’s development.”

The six stocks making way for this week’s new entries are Greatland Resources, Ithaca Energy, GCM Resources, Barclays, Aviva and Oxford Biomedica.
