ShareGift: donate my stock to charity

ShareGift is an independent registered charity which accepts donations of shares and related cash entitlements regardless of value. Donations are used to support a wide range of UK registered charities.

Donate unwanted stocks to charity

• Select Cash & Transfers > Transfer in from your account menu. 
• Scroll down and select donate stock to charity: shareGift under the Internal Transfer heading. 
• Choose the account you wish to gift the stocks from. Then click Next. 
• Click on Select Investments. Then select the investments you wish to donate. 
• You can then enter the number to transfer for each investment. Then click Next. 
• Read the tax information and tick the declaration boxes. Then Confirm Transfer. 

The transfers can take up to 10 days during periods of high volume but are usually completed within a few days. 

You can use our ShareGift process to donate any unwanted stock in your ISA or trading account to charity. Unfortunately, you cannot gift shares from a SIPP account as it would be classed as a withdrawal.

You may also wish to remove any valueless stocks from your account.
