Douglas Chadwick started work at the age of 14 as a ‘deckie learner’ in the Merchant Navy. At 22 he left to study for a degree in Theoretical Physics. He went on to set up two furniture manufacturing businesses before retiring in 2008. He then founded Saltydog Investor, which aims to help private investors manage their own investments.
