Questions and answers

Will I still receive a Calendar Year Consolidated Tax Certificate (CTC)?

We will continue to run the Calendar Year CTC (Irish tax year) as usual this year for our Ireland based customers. We will review this next year, but do expect to continue this as a helpful service for Ireland residents.

Will international share trading change?

With your interactive investor Ireland service, you can trade directly in up to 17 global markets. This will continue once you change to access the interactive investor UK service. The main difference is that the default settlement currency will be sterling unless you choose otherwise when you place your trade online.

Will I still be able to settle trades in euros?

Yes, you can select your settlement currency when placing each trade. With interactive investor’s UK service, you can hold and trade in up to nine different currencies, just as you do today.

I hold US shares. Will my W-8BEN stay when my access moves?

The W-8BEN is a form you must complete to hold and trade in US shares. It captures information that is required for the US Internal Revenue Service (IRS).

If you have a valid W-8BEN form that is still in date at the time of the move, it will stay with your account. If you need a new W-8BEN to hold and trade in US shares in future, you can find this here and return in to us in the post.

Does interactive investor offer access to select investment ranges?

Yes, after the move you will have the option to consider select investment ranges and model portfolios chosen by experts. You can find more details of our Super 60 range of investments here.
